Sam Goldfischer brings more than three decades of independent school leadership experience, with deep expertise in finance, operations, governance, and long-term institutional planning. During his 34 years as Director of Business and Finance at Newark Academy, from 1992 until his retirement in June 2026, he oversaw major campus planning and construction projects, managed key financial and operational functions, and played an integral role in school life and governance.
A longtime leader in the independent school community, Sam has served on national and regional boards and committees, including the National Business Officers Association and NJAIS, and has also served on the boards of two private independent schools. He has received multiple professional honors for his service and leadership. Prior to Newark Academy, he worked in banking and the private sector.
